Homemade Donuts (Air-Fryer)
Ingredients
  • 250-350 grams of all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tablespoons of sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons of active dry yeast
  • 120 ml of warm milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 40 grams of butter coconut oil, or sunflower oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Oil for brushing or spraying
Instructions
  1. Proof yeast in warm milk. Add sugar and wait till it’s all bubbly.
  2. Add flour, vanilla, beaten egg, and salt and mix for one minute. Add butter or oil slowly while mixing. Then knead until donut dough is smooth, elastic, and shiny. Cover it in an oiled bowl and let it rise for an hour in a warm place.
  3. Roll out dough to around ½ inch/1.2 cm thick with a rolling pin. Cut out donut shapes with a special tool or a cup and a smaller cup. Keep the donut “holes”.
  4. Cover donuts with a towel and let them rise for around 15 minutes.
  5. Heat up your air fryer to 180 C, wait a minute, spray with oil, then lay donuts gently at the bottom of the basket. Spray donuts with a light mist of oil, too (but that's optional).
  6. Air fry for around 3-6 minutes until a light golden brown.
  7. Do whatever the heck you want with them.
