About

Welcome to Healthy-ish! I’m Nevine, health coach by day and 24/7 mom to busy twin girls who manage to keep on amazing me every single day.

What I do: My health coaching journey

Growing up in the 90s, I experienced firsthand the damage diet culture can inflict on girls and women. Recovering from an eating disorder fueled my dedication to helping women break free from restrictive dieting through a more gentle form of nutrition coaching that embraces individual challenges, lifestyles, and well-being. I believe it’s time to make peace with food, move away from trends, and base our choices on what feels good without fear or shame. My message to all the strong, hard-working women facing “eat this, not that” guilt: we are NOT what we eat. We are so, so much more than that.

What I love to do: Creating easy, healthy recipes

I love creating simple, healthy recipes that make balanced eating both accessible and enjoyable. Meal planning is a big part of this journey, as it simplifies life for busy families like mine, ensuring we always have nutritious meals ready to go. By planning ahead, I find we can save time and reduce stress, making it easier to stick to our health goals. For me, it’s all about making wellness a natural and enjoyable part of our daily routine, showing that eating well doesn’t have to be complicated.

Why I do what I do: A tribute to my grandmother

My passion for good food and what it represents started in my grandmother’s kitchen. My late grandmother and everlasting role model was an awe-inspiring force when it came to food, always dreaming up new and interesting recipes to make for our big weekly family dinner at my grandparents’ house. She’d scribble recipes in special and random notebooks, as well as hastily torn pieces of newspaper or old receipts when inspiration hit and she couldn’t wait to put her latest culinary creation down in pen and ink.

This blog, and everything I do, is inspired by Teita. She taught me that cooking and compassion went hand in hand. She cooked from her heart and truly enjoyed creating simple, healthy recipes that fed both body and soul. She took me to do my first good deed, kept my very first teenage secret, and showed me how to make the best pasta sauce in the world.

She told me that I can do anything I want to do, and believed it.

Teita, this is for you. Every recipe, every thought, and every cozy meal with loved ones over one of your precious culinary delights.
